Default Cylinder 1 and 3 misfire

I have a 2000 Kia Sephia. For quite some time now I have been having problems with it misfiring. Recently, it has gotten to the point that it won't stay on for more than a few seconds. I have replaced the spark plugs, coil pack, I have put in fuel cleaner, I just got done replacing the fuel injectors, and I have no idea where to go now. I have never changed fuel injectors before, so I tried to let it run a bit, just in case it would act like it was low on gas since some falls out. Like I said, I let it run for a bit and it kept dying. I spent over $200 on unneeded fuel injectors and I am running out of money and time. It does everything that a car does when it misfires (as far as I know)

I have no idea where to go from here, but I cannot afford to keep replacing things that don't need to be replaced. Any help please?

first we need more details, such as mileage...
did you check compression? do you have start problems (cold and hot)? does it miss fire on higher rpm? does it have power? what is the fuel economy?
could you describe the spark plugs? were they black, brown, white (ground electrode)
could you compare all the spark plugs now? remove all of them and tell what is sparks plug color

did you check cables? swap coils...

after you have answers for all of them, update it.

What kind of plugs did you use when you put new ones in and what did you gap them at. Kia likes OEM std. plugs and are to be gapped at .028 to .032.

Welcome to the forum and let us know how it turnes out.

just under 130k miles. about 25 to the gallon. I have not taken it anywhere to test anything other than the check engine light, which said multiple misfires.. misfires in cylinders 1 and 3... the person at Auto Zone wasn't much help other than reading the codes to me. I don't recall them off the top of my head, but my car won't stay on for long to take and get them read again.

My car runs very rough in general. It shakes a whole lot constantly, but the check engine blinks(supposed to do so while its misfiring) not TOO often. but it is just about every time i drive it. It has been doing it more often. It will also lunge forward sometimes. It seems like it would be more of a fuel problems from the way it sounds and runs, but I could be wrong. It is jsut very similar to running out of gas.

As far as switching coils, plugs, and such... I only know about cars if I have fixed it before, so I changed my plugs about 5 times before I knew that I did not have to every time. The coil pack was changed twice.

While I was out there checking everything, I pulled out the wires that are plugged into the coil pack and it crumbled in my hands. It didn't look like it was blown or like it had anything wrong with it. It just looked like the plastic part that makes it snap was in terrible shape.

The spark plugs are black on the threaded part and they looked to not be discolored anywhere else. I dont have a flash on my phone, so they look a lot more black than they actually are...

I had a mobile mechanic coming out to check it out, but he said he was coming for sure for three days in a row and never came. I am not dealing with him and I am going to get a bit of help from my dad on Sunday.

And to the spark plug question... .44, I believe... and NGK v-power.

I REALLY think it is a fuel problem though. I have been told by a couple people that the next step is the fuel filter and pump.

Let me know if you need to know anything else or any suggestions...

Cheaper = better

Spark plug gap is WAY to big. Regap to .028 to .032. You probably will be pleasently surprized. Go for it, nothing to loose.

Plugs look like Autolite

Those plugs look like they way past their use by date - the centre electrodes are eroded.

Those aren't NGK's, and as everyone else here advises, the NGK's gapped to 0.028 ~ 0.032" is what's needed.

I'd start by replacing the plugs and HT wires etc. that your report are degraded.

to be exact. The gap should be 0.028 to 0.032 Not .032 ;P

They look to dark to me. The bottom part (electrodes) should be grayish in color. The darker it is - the more fuel (unburned) you have. So for sure this is not fuel problem.
