Default Automatic Transmission Filter Change

Hi averyone.

Does anyone know if I have to and how to change the automatic Transmission filter. I have Chilton book and it says to change the fluid and filter, but only explains how to do the fluid change. It doesn't explain how to change the filter.

Thanks.

I'm glad some else is having the same problem! I was planning on changing my transmission fluid and filter this weekend and I have the haynes manual and it too says to change fluid and filter but does not explain how to do filter. Napa and advance carry the part so you must be able to do it. Just How????

Did you change your transmission filter?
If you did, how you did it. Did you take down the whole pan?
