Smile 98 sephia still having issues with its trannie:(

i need to know what i can try replacing/cleaning/looking at re: my sephias transmission.

as i said in other posts ALL solenoids in the valve body replaced even the pressure one now. mechanic said he could not clear codes with the state computer because of mismatched nos so i reinstalled original ecu and tcm(still nothing) the transmission almost ALWAYS when accelerating from a complete stop it does the slight"bump" that it normally will do indicating its ATTEMPTING second gear but in second it still refuses to go to third and 4th. and if i hold the brake and rev in drive rpms will go up but drop after a few seconds. o/d light still blinking check engine light still on. also codes indicate that solenoid "a" still is bad(not bad though) now it gave me a trans. temp. sensor reading high(replaced still nothing)

noises it makes: alot of the time you can hear clearly(no outside noises but its not super loud loud enough to be reasonably audable) the sound like a faucet makes if you dont close it all the way and the internal rubber gasket begins to vibrate(that semi-high pitched brrrrrrrr noise lol) and on occasion it will if apon for example going from driving it to park it will make a whining noise similar to those big belt driven shop fans at initial startup but on a much smaller scale)

what might i need to fix or repair? again clutch packs are fine if only it can get to the point of engaging them

i think there is a hidden problem if not many with the sensors because every time i fix and replace what it calls for with the codes new codes pop up that never were there*drum beat plse* puzzling lol

thx onefast as i suspected.so i guess its the end of the line for that trannie lol ill just have to wait till a '98 comes in the salvage yard(98-01) do u or anyone know if a 97 is the same part(exact fit they sure look the same sensorwise etc. 1.8 models with kia engine also DOHC) i looked up kits and they state 95 and up id assume minus the mounts but just wanna make sure before i buy one and go through the hassle of the pull it yourself jazz to find out it wont fit. and is there any special procedure i need to know when tackling the job? ive never ripped one out before so i just want to be certain i dont screw something up lol also how hard is a conversion to standard and same thing goes with compatibility with a 97. also if they happened to sneak the same part in rios but id prob. have much better luck finding a good 97?

thanks onefast,
hey i hopefully remedied this issue(ill find out) the noise was the transmission OIL PUMP noone ever even touched on that being a suspect(as a pressure problem) as soon as this rain stops and i get around to it ill drop the trans a bit and swap it out. its not expensive if u get it at the salvage yard usually id pay 10 bucks but they crushed the sephias there so i paid 75.(better than 580)

1997-2001 sephias trans pump assemblies will fit 97-2001(98 also).same dealer part no. but 1997 MUST BE THE 1.8L DOHC KIA ENGINE NOT ANYTHING ELSE-auto trans of corse) the dealer and trans shop said that(not complete trans on 97 but oil pump part-externally mounted on drivers side small bolt on housing(like a drain plug contains regulator valve inside and about 10 12mm bolts on actual housing.) it would be a 30 min job minus making a gasket(15-30 mins additional) if the frame was not in the way- why it needs to be lowered a bit)

ill let everyone know how it goes. hey who knows maybee my little experimenting around will add to the knowledge and may save others from going through it

they did make a 1.8L in 95-97 but it is not the same 1.8L. Maybe they list it as that as the 98 were produced in 97. Make sure its for the t8d engine.
