Default 2000 Sephia Trans

I took my car too autozone and got it read because the check engine light is on. It read 2 errors. One oygen sensor and the trans fluid.
This happened before but it was because the gas cap was loose. I had the light reset and no problems. I did get gas that morning and the cap was loose hence the sensor. I checked the trans fluid and it looks dirty. The car is running okay. Should I get the trans flushed and have the light reset? What kind of ATF should be used in it? I was told multi ATF and another place told me synthetic? Thanks

You can use any atf fluid.... Id get it flushed it it isnt a red color... The o2 sensor might have to be replaced.

Thanks for the fast response I was just told by another place to just change the fliter and refill the fluid? " Flushing the trans is like just draining it and they won't replace the filter." Don't flush it. They will charge you at least 100.00 to do it and they won't replace the filter." Is this true? Help me before I waste my money Please

If your fluid is brown it needs to be flushed. Flushing will get ALL of the fluid out while just draining and refilling will only get out what is in the tranny pan...
Go to like midas and get a tranny flush and refil. THey will flush it, change the filter and refill for like 60 bucks or so. Well worth it unless you want to replace the 1500 tranny when it dies early!!
