Default Car Always Seem To Wanna Shift

i HAVE A 99 kia sephia, it seems like no gear is suitable for this car, I from first going 10 then second at 25 then third i can go 30 but it still seems to wanna shift then if i shift it, it lags power so i stay in third, Is this common in Sephia's or Just in my case? maybe small gear box or somthing? I have a toyota paseo that can stay in third at 30 with alot of power at only at 3 rpms my sephia has no rpm meter but the engine sounds very loud at this rate thanks

Hehe it could be your computer cus your comp takes the info from two things on your Tranny....i know this for a fact because i have replaced these two items myself.....ones called an input vehichle speed sensor and the output vehichle speed sensor. The input is by your Motor mount underneath your air filter box and is small and looks like a L. Second one is farther back on the tranny. It is from using the input sensor as the center of a clock the output sensor is about 1o o'clock position. YOull know its there cus the shifter cable is there right by it . BTW is called a gear speedo set in the dealership under item 3 #6600 series. When your comp goes it will make your speedometer bounce eratically and it will think that the tranny is slipping...in different gears. That is why im getting rid of mine tommorow 3.16.2007

it does sound like you have loss of power transfer. i would check transmition but also a clutch system. i think this second might be problem.

engine light ever come on? it would come on if there was a problem with gear ratios. If its still shifting gears, then it wouldn't be trans fluid related. Your clutches are working good if its shifting without grinding. Remember that every car is different. Something else that isn't trans related is causing a lack of power(sludge, sediment in injectors, etc.).
