Default Intake Air Temperature may be bad..

I have a Kia Rio 2002 Forest Green car.

Purchased a used $3500, 35000 miles about 4 years ago, the body was not in the greatest shape..

But overall it has been a pretty reliable car...

Much better than my $25,000 Saturn Vue.

Ok... So my engine light came on..

Took it to my local AutoZone and hooked the computer up to the module..

It gave me the following error:

P0113 Intake Air Temperature Circuit, high input...

Here are my questions:

1. Where exactly is this located at?

2. What does it look like?

3. Is this something I can replace, heck it only costs about $20.00

4. What exactly does this do?

Any help is appreciated.

Whatever happened to your IAT sensor issue?

I think mine is missing. I bought a cobbled up one and nobody can find the IAT. There is a whole that seems the likely spot for the IAT in the air intake snorkel and I found a wire harness that is hooked up to nothing.

Any help with pics or sources for parts? I am not sure what the sensor looks like.

Do you have a picture? I believe mine was left off when the engine was installed. I have an empty wire harness and a hole in the airbox snorkel, but no sensor.

I am getting nowhere with local mechanics and junkyard. There are no kias around here.

Help

I have been a member for a month. I see no place to begin a thread. I can reply to existing threads but cannot start one. There is no button anywhere. Suggestions?

PS. My question is:
IAT sensor,
I believe mine was left off when the engine was installed. I have an empty wire harness and a hole in the airbox snorkel, but no sensor.

I am getting nowhere with local mechanics and junkyard. There are no kias around here. I can only guess where it is supposed to be.

Help

if you wish to start a new thread - at the beginning of this part of the forum (Carens/Rondo), above the thread on the left you see a box marked New Topic, take it from there.

Also if you could fill out your profile as to your location and what you drive and a avatar if you have one, it would be a big help to us on any conversations - thanks.
