On one of the kia service manuals I downloaded it suggests that there is a small tool that you use to remove what kia call the radio crash panel. If you do a google image search for 09840-1e100 you can see a picture of the tool. (Yip - its the one that looks like it came out your grandads shed, not a modern car garage).
