Default Ecotek Valve (CB26-p)

hello,

i have just purchased a ecotek valve for my picanto. i think i need to re-tune it though as doesn't seem to be making a noise when driving.

what i wanted to know is has anyone else purchased one of these, if so has it increased fuel efficiency or performance at all?

thank you

anyone??

i re-tuned the device and it seems to make a noise now but i seem to get more of a whine/whistle noise when i take my foot off the accelerator, and its very loud and annoying sounds a bit like a bicycle breaking.

i have messed around with it a little and no matter what i do i cannot get it to produce a different noise.

an ecotek valve is just designed to make the car more responsive e.g. throttle response and increase fuel efficiency.

FACT 1 - Better acceleration
Used by tuners of performance engines and on number of competitive touring and sports cars the Ecotek incorporates the same swirl technology now commonly used in racing engines. The effect of the CB-26P is to create a better suspension of fuel molecules in the mixture you get an improvement in the combustion process making acceleration smoother and more rapid! Turbulence in the inlet manifold (as produced by the CB-26P)is also known to reduce flat spots as well as the effects of performance tuning through high lift cams and competition exhaust systems!

FACT 2 - Fuel savings of upto 29.7%
You will notice a significant improvement in petrol consumption - especially at motorway speeds. Independent figures and real world tests show that, on anything other than the very newest vehicles, improvements in petrol consumption of 15% are commonplace! At speeds of 80 mph engineers Evans Halshaw actually recorded fuel savings of 29.7%!

FACT 3 - Less carbon deposits
With the Ecotek less carbon equals less exhaust and engine corrosion. With the Ecotek your engine, spark plugs and expensive exhaust system run at peak efficiency for longer, so it pays to go green!

FACT 4 - We are still paying the highest fuel prices in Europe!
This needs no explanation. Get one today!

Max Power magazine said - noticeable improvement in throttle response - especially in the mid range... and the petrol station visits have dropped radically. An Inspired technological invention.

Revs magazine said - Best Buy Award... a product we would buy with our own money ...a winner. Response was up and the car pulled through the gears much more smoothly.

Redline magazine said - The improvement was immediately apparent. The car now feels less breathless at high revs and seems to pull stronger than befor

ukpicantotuner.... what advantages have the device given you yourself? i seem to get the rasping noise when i change gear but its not a constant noise it goes on and off, not like when your tuning it and there's that constant rasping. and then makes a squealing/whistling noise as i get below about 2000 rpm until it reaches idle again.

it doesn't seem to sound like the video shows it to sound. like i say the video shows a constant rasp when you decrease the revs and then all of a sudden it will stop. i don't get that. its hard to explain, its more like it quickly goes on and off, on off, on off etc. for 2 or 3 seconds. i don't understand, is this normal? i have tried fiddling with it and retuning it but that's the best i can do.

i have just fitted mine to a vacuum hose, not on the brake servo but there is a vacuum hose on the top (its quite short)

hope someone can help

i have decided to 'turn off' my valve, as today two people from two different houses came over when i was trying to re-tune the thing. they fault something had gone badly wrong with my car because of the noise it was making.

it makes the same noise when pulling up at traffic lights etc, and to be honest has got quite embarrassing :-(

oh well, never mind. i did have high hopes for the valve but i cannot put up with the noise, even tried fitting the filter/silencer and that didn't dampen the sound really at all.
