Well, could these things have anything to do with the fact that my fanbelt started to squeel again two weeks after i had the dynamo changed? Thinking logically this should not happen. Do you think that they did something wrong at the KIA shop? I haven't got another kia service anywhere near so i can't get a second opinion....

Hi r0se. Yes, I think they're related. It could be that as the dynamo (alternator ?) was about to fail it was proving harder to turn and this caused the fanbelt to slip. A fanbelt that slips for a while becomes worn and won't grip the pulleys the same. They should have adjusted the fanbelt when fitting the new dynamo but if it was worn it would soon start slipping again. I think a new fanbelt is required, luckily they don't cost much.

Default fanbelt

hi if your kia dealer is anything like mine then they will replace the broken part and not look any further into the problems this may have caused. anyway if they didnt replace your fanbelt it will need replacing it will be glazed and not grip .also even the dynamo pully may be shot if they used the one off your old one . a quick squirt of wd40 helps sounds mad but it helps brake down the glaze , its only a tempory fix tho swampduck
