Hi there dear Kia Proffesionals,
I have a 2004 Kia 1.1L Kia Picanto that I was very pleased to have but for the last two months I have lots of problems:
A couple of months ago I had bought an unleaded normal fuel for my Picanto from a Shell gas station but for a couple of days I had some difficulties when I was starting the engine than I write an e-mail to Shell and they said that diesel fuel was put into the normal fuel tank of the station but in a very small amount it was like 30lt diesel against 3000lt normal 95 octane fuel.
A couple of days later my engine again became normal. But about 45 days ago, I start to have acceleration problems sometimes even getting accelerating after a red light turned to green become imposibble. Even though I stick the gas padel to floor the car just won't go.
So I went to a Kia Service and told about my problem. First of all the service chief told me that the problem was about catalytic converter and also the fuel injectors; and both were a very expensive parts so the service chief suggest me to break the ceramic parts inside the catalytic converter which will not harm the motor as he said. And also he suggest me that we should clean the injectors with a special machine which will again make injectors clean and will be a cheaper choice than changing injectors.
When he was doing these (clean the injectors with a special machine and breaking the ceramics inside the catalytic converter) he found out that the over heat created with the gagged (blocked) converter melt the induction coil (spark coil) of the motor that is why the engine did not work in red lights so he also changed the induction coil as well.
After making all of these for a couple of days the engine seem to work normal but there was a loss of power(The Picanto did not accelerate well and climbing hills was a great problem). And moreover the fuel consumption increase enourmously(From 6-7lt/100km to 10-11lt/100km).
Is there anyone who can suggest me what my problem was and what is the solution???
Shortly; even though my dear Picanto work; it won't accelerate, climb hills and have a low fuel consumption once it used to be.
I was thinking of changing the 4 fuel injectors and replacing the catalytic converter with a new one (when I have that much money
) but I am afraid of that those two replacements cannot solve the problem as well.
What should I do?
