Default How do I remove the HU from the 2008 picanto ice?

Hi,

I've just bought a brand new Picanto ice 1.1. Whilst the radio is very nice, I have a much nicer one that i'd like to install. I'm a bit worried though, as there does not appear to be a straight forward way of swapping the Head units around. Firstly the HU currently in my Picanto appears to be about twice the height of the Sony HU I want to put in.

Does anyone have any suggestions, or do you know how I can replace the HU.... Will I end up with a dirty great big gap under the sony HU or will it be more like an extra pocket????

Thanks for any help you can give!!

you will invalidate your warranty by doing this and you will be left with a big ugly hole as I doubt any aftermarket company has as yet designed a face plate to cover the hole to fit a standard aftermarket stereo. you also risk increasing the risk of theft and you will have to advise your insurer that you have a different stereo increasing your premium.
