Yup City driving po sir...

My car is 2 years old already. hehehe I always follow PMS every 3 months. Yung air intake ko, pinalitan ko nang aftermarket airfilter and customized air pipe. It was ok at first because it really gives extra muscle sa engine especially climbing uphill plus it sounds cool if you rev the engine above 2000 rpm. The downside was that it consumes more fuel, it voids warranty claims, and maintaining it is a headache cuz inorder the have optimum performance you have to clean all the dirt that is filtered on it. Yung binalik ko sa factory setting, my mileage improves alot. Although I never go beyond the 430km mark that I achieved before hehehe. Traffic is another factor, and the time you fill the tank which is an advantage when you fill up at night, load you carry around including passengers, tire pressure, our weather in the Philippines which is a lot hotter than European countries(The colder the air, the denser the oxygen which is effective in fuel burning), Engine Health, braking habits, and driving habits are other factors that affect the mileage of our car.

For us picanto owners in the Philippines, it is wise to follow the PMS every 3 months to keep our engine healthy. A healthy engine guzzles lesser fuel, thus helps the environment and our budget in fuel as well.

Finally! I broke my very own 430km mark for a 30 liters of unleaded 93 RON fuel. This afternoon I reach 446.5 km in a 32 liters of fuel with 3 liters of reserve left in the tank. hehehe. I drive mostly around the City with less idle and I always avoid traffic jammed areas. I also limit the engine rev not going beyond 2,500 rpm in low gears.

When you say 'wicked' fuel consumption, could you be a bit more precise? In MPG or Km/L. I have fitted nothing to my 1.1 LS manual and am getting roughly 46-50 mpg. (Mixture of town and country driving). I'm interested in these ecotek valves but worried that I might invalidate my warranty. (Car only 9 months old)

Default ecotek

Its not a massive difference, i get 55 - 60 miles to the gallon depending on where im driving. My car also idle's at a better level now which makes the throttle a bit more responsive. Its good stuff. Found a link to where i got mine from

POTN - If you are looking for an Ecotek CB-26P Valve Green click here Ecotek

I can't see why it would invalidate your warrenty, its an egine adition rather than a modification.

Heres the description thing
Transform performance and save fuel!!!

Weve sold thousands of Ecotek widgets over the years, and this year looks no different. Available in Gold,Red,Blue,Green,Pink,Purple and Chrome - matching Pipercross filters also available! Easy DIY fit & 30 day money back guarantee, so try one out for yourself.

FACT 1 - Better acceleration
Used by tuners of performance engines and on number of competitive touring and sports cars the Ecotek incorporates the same swirl technology now commonly used in racing engines. The effect of the CB-26P is to create a better suspension of fuel molecules in the mixture you get an improvement in the combustion process making acceleration smoother and more rapid! Turbulence in the inlet manifold (as produced by the CB-26P)is also known to reduce flat spots as well as the effects of performance tuning through high lift cams and competition exhaust systems!

FACT 2 - Fuel savings of upto 29.7%
You will notice a significant improvement in petrol consumption - especially at motorway speeds. Independent figures and real world tests show that, on anything other than the very newest vehicles, improvements in petrol consumption of 15% are commonplace! At speeds of 80 mph engineers Evans Halshaw actually recorded fuel savings of 29.7%!

FACT 3 - Less carbon deposits
With the Ecotek less carbon equals less exhaust and engine corrosion. With the Ecotek your engine, spark plugs and expensive exhaust system run at peak efficiency for longer, so it pays to go green!

FACT 4 - We are still paying the highest fuel prices in Europe!
This needs no explanation. Get one today!

Max Power magazine said - noticeable improvement in throttle response - especially in the mid range... and the petrol station visits have dropped radically. An Inspired technological invention.

Revs magazine said - Best Buy Award... a product we would buy with our own money ...a winner. Response was up and the car pulled through the gears much more smoothly.

Redline magazine said - The improvement was immediately apparent. The car now feels less breathless at high revs and seems to pull stronger than before.

New set of figures for my LS 1.1 petrol Manual. (It has now covered 7500 miles.) 350.1 miles (563.4 km) consumed 31.5 litres. That works out at 50.53 mpg or 17.88 km/L. Its now summertime in UK and warm up times much reduced. Not hot enough yet to necessitate use of air con though! Fuel prices here are just going through the roof:- £1.20 per litre! Must be similar elsewhere I guess.

yup here in the Philippines it's above 60 pesos per liter ($1.33 per liter). It is so damn high unlike the 1st time I have my picanto the price was 40 pesos per liter ($ 0.86 per liter).

Latest data:- Covered 360.8 miles (580.5 km) which consumed 7.15 gals (32.5 litres), so that works out at 50.47 mpg (17.86 km/L). Seems to be stable at this figure now. Quite pleased with that as I do a combined cycle. (KIA's official figures are about 54mpg) Thank goodness as fuel prices continue to soar!
Thanks to those who have submitted figures. Anyone else want to contribute?

the ecotek valve you bought, how well exactly does it work and how easy is it to fit to the picanto?

does it make a noise when accelerating?
