October 2007 KIA sales

just getting preliminary figures through for KIA Canada for October:

Rio - 468
Spectra - 601
Magentis - 193
Amanti - 22
Rondo - 828
Sportage - 500
Sorento - 106
Sedona - 201

I guess it would have been 827 except for me That's quite an impressive number for the Rondo. Thats nearly 6500 units since its introduction last November.

This thread sure shows the difference in consumer preference in the Canadian and American auto market. In Canada, the Rondo is Kia's #1 seller, whereas in the U.S., it is at the bottom.

Still, these are great numbers for the US. They just passed their goal of selling 20,000 US Rondos for 2007, and there is 2 months left. I remember reading an article about how it is selling beyond their expectations.

sales in the US for the Rondo`s direct competition, the Mazda 5 are not very good, only 558 (vs the 2751 Rondo) units were sold in October and in October 2006 they sold 928.
Do not have any Mazda figures for Canada yet, but generally the Mazda 5 always outsells the Rondo.

You are forgetting one little thing, the Rondo has only been in the US for 1 year, hasn't the Canadian market had the carens before the renaming of Rondo on our side of the "pond"??

The Rondo was introduced to the Canadian market at the same time as the US - November 2006, we've never had this vehicle before. The Carens is the third generation vehicle in the rest of the world.

I would like to see a break down of the sales between 5 and 7 seater and V6 v. I4 to see what kind of buyers are buying the Rondo. I wonder if Kia publicizes that information.
