Another funny Borrego story. When we bought our car and registered it they gave us a sticker good for two years-it was finally due so my wife took it to the state inspection station. These guys inspect cars all day long in a state of 9 million people, so they've seen it all (or have they?). Every worker on the line said something to the effect of "What is this?" or "This is a pretty nice Kia!" To my wife. One guy told me he was going to Google it on his break to learn more about it.
I was accused of "adding" the V8 insignia on the tailgate of my Limited by an guy one time. I had to open the hood and show him that it really is a V8 Kia.
We have a copper V8 Borrego and we could very well be the only one in Minnesota. So we were driving to Omaha, NE for a track meet. Just as we get into NE and past Omaha into the western suburbs another copper Borrego comes down a ramp and merges onto the freeway just in front of us. Our kids and the kids in the other Borrego we waving at each other like crazy.
I have a copper EX V8 2WD and rarely see any in my area. I'm in the Dayton, OH area. My brother has a red EX in Houston. Same thing. Rarely sees any. They are a great vehicle. I am at 66,000 on mine. Only issue is a slight noise at about 35-50 mph. Like a thump thump thump sound. As speed increases it seems to fade. Had the dealer check out all of the wheel bearings and they could only attribute the noise to the tires. Michelin Lat tours. Only have about 20,000 miles on them. Next stop to tire shop for a rotate and balance. See if that fixes the issue.
