Default Kia optima 2011 rear defroster

Hi Guys. I have question about rear window defroster. I noticed that my rear window defroster doesnt work. I mean top couples lines. like 4 or five. I was in the service and they said that everything is ok because the top lines are not defroster but it is antenna (whatever from satelite or regular radio) I sthat true? Do you have the same. It may be true because the top lines looks that they are connected separately, but I wana be sure. Thats my new car so i like when everything is perfect. Thanks.

Chris.

I'll have to pay attention to it the next frosty morning, but it seems like most of it clears up

Ok, i checked out my rear window yesterday, looks like the top couple of inches does not heat up, there's i think 3 small vertical lines that come down, that section didn't heat up, covering prob about 5 of the horizontal lines.

Yes, its the antenna. The roof antenna is for the satelite only.

Sorry to revive an old thread. I just bought a 2012 Kia Optima SX and the top lines of my rear window don't defrost. I was told they were the radio antenna which lead me here. My question is, you say it's the top 5 lines. On mine it is the top 7. It starts where there is a double line.. does that sound right? It seems like 1/4 of my back window doesn't defrost. I could understand the top 2 inches but not this much.
