We Currently Have One In Our Shop Where The Right Side Lower Control Arm Has Ripped Out Of The Cradle Due To Corrosion. We Are Replacing The Cradle, Stabilizer Bar And Link. I Would Suggest You Schedule An Appointment Asap With Your Kia Dealer For An Inspection. There Are No Recalls/campaigns As Of Yet For This Issue But There May Be In The Future. I Would Have It Taken Care Of Before Anything Breaks And Causes More Damage. The One In Our Shop Is Being Taken Care Of By Kia Even Though Warranty Has Expired Which Required Approval By The Dpsm. Current Parts Bill Is Almost $2000 Before Labor.

Default engine cradle rusted and cracked

Hi I just had my 2001 Optima in the shop for the exact same reason; Rust caused by the air conditioner. They are telling me $1500.00 just to replace the cradle. I was wondering what the Dpsm is? Should I just contact my Kia Service Department about getting Kia to take care of this?
Thnk You!
