Smile adjust gas pedal resistance

Hi:
I have an '07 optima, 2.4L and need to increase the resistance of my gas pedal.
I looked at the pedal today and notice it is in some kind of enclosure/box. Is there a way to go into the pedal's container and increase the pedal resistance (spring?) as it is ever so weak and tricky to drive with.
thanks,
jim

Oh my goodness. I have noticed this with my '09. It is so touchy. I always press too hard taking off and jerk my head....HAHA. I know these cars a "drive by wire" I don't know if you can adjust that.
