Default Problem: '02 Optima dies when in neutral

My '02 Optima has been acting up a lot lately. At first I thought it was when I would put it in park, the RPM's would drop to 500 or less and occasionally die. I have since come to realize that it is when it goes too or through neutral. If I go just too neutral the RPM's will drop and sometimes die but if i go to drive, park or reverse from there it is just fine. I have read a lot about the Idle Control Valve on this forum but i haven't read anything that sounds like the same problem as mine. Does anyone have any ideas? Do you think its the same thing and if not what should i do? Your help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,

Chris
