Default New here, 02 Optima electrical problem/help needed

Lately I have been having a problem that every time I step on the brakes, or turn on the turn signal, etc., the headlights dim, clock radio time dims, and radio even loses sound for a second. Any ideas what can cause this or where to even begin looking for the problem? No aftermarket anything in it. It is an 02 se v6.

I suspect that the brake pedal may be rubbing on a wiring harness and possibly shorting a wire or wires. Worth a look under the dash to see if it is happening.

I'll look, but how would that explain the turn signal causing the same, but to a lesser extent?

Thumbs up Excellent!

Great question, and a great solution. I have yet to experience this with my '02 Magentis (I've only had the thing for a week) but if it happens I'll know where to find the answer.

Bob.
