Angry Airbags didn't deploy

On Tuesday February 13,2007 at around 2:15 texas time I was in a two car wreck with a state trooper I hit him with my passenger side and remarkably it was not my fault he turned in front of me. My air bags did not deploy, my seat belt did not lock like it was supposed to do. This resulted in a minor cuncussion, whiplash, vertigo and finally severe migranes that I may never fully recover from. I contacted Kia with questions about the saftey of my car and was told that the airbags are not designed to go off in my sort of wreck. to which I replied then why do I pay extra for the safety of airbags when the do not work. the customer service manager told me that if I would've had a passenger the would've gone off. tell me what you think here are some pics of my car http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j2...ly/PICS015.jpg

He only hit part of the front and that the reason why they didnt go off. If it had been a full head on collision they prolly would have gone off. I have seen this numerous times.

Default How fast?

How fast were you going, and how fast did you decelerate?? Did it have advanced airbags? If it had advanced airbags, then airbag deployment is based on deceleration. If the airbags were not advanced, there is a sensor behind the grille. The only way to deploy the airbag for non-advanced airbags is to smash that sensor. You can't blame Kia. All non-advanced airbags are that way, for every manufacturer. Before I bought my '04.5 Kia Spectra, I had the same type of accident in an '03 Ford Taurus. I broke my collar bone and fractured my 3 of my neck bones, because the airbag didn't deploy. It had non-advanced airbags, and the sensor wasn't smashed, so the bags didnt deploy.
