Default Changing temperature display from fahrenheit to celcius

Hi guys, just purchased my first Kia last week. I went with the Forte 5 door hatchback EX model and love it. Cannot figure out how to change my outside temp display from F to C. The manual shows how to change it on the auto climate system but not on the manual system. Any ideas Im stumped.
THANKS GOOD FORUM :

just want to welcome you to the forum with your first posting as you are a early purchaser of this new model. Sorry I can't help you with your question my Rondo doesn't have that luxury feature, I think its new and being expanded across the line. Where does it display the temperature on your dash?

Hi Conwelpic
The temp readout is clustered with the clock display just above the hazard button centre counsel.
How are things down Picton way, I used to do some sport parachuting at the airfield there in my earlier days when I was stationed in Trenton. Nice area.

There has to be something to active it, unfortunately Kia Canada has not provided any 2011 manual downloads and the one on KGIS is the wrong one, they have the Optima owners manual in place of the Forte's. Just wondering if its tied in with the clock operation

I live at the other end of the county to Picton, we enjoyed it, moved here in '93 and built our home. No snow so far this season, coldest last night at -5C. Only used my snow-thrower once last winter.

I downloaded the 2011 Forte owners manual from KGIS and see what you mean, the description at the bottom of the page doesn't make much sense, like its not complete, which makes me suspect the info for the adjustment should be there. Like you said there has to be a way to adjust it, like on the auto system.
Have you talked to your dealer?

Haven"t talked to the dealer yet. Its not a pressing issue so I'll just wait till I bring it in for servicing. More a curiosity thing than anything. Thanks for your reponses, much appreciated.

Well I finally figured it out. As I said, it wasn't a pressing issue, but it was bugging me to no end. Here's how...For three seconds, press and hold both the hour and minute buttons then release. The temperature readout will flash three times then change from F to C or visa versa automatically. Thats it! Cheers

great - I guess it cycles between that and the clock adjustment as that changes from 12 hour to 24 hour format if you hold both the H and M for 5 seconds, did you get the info from the dealer or figuring out yourself? Why is it not marked in the owners manual

Well I just tried every possible combination and stumbled on it myself. I can only think KIA missed it prior to publication of the manual. Maybe it will help someone else.
