Like the title says my key isn't being allowed to go in the ignition. 2015 Kia forte EX hatchback (11k miles). My remote starter will start the car but I can't get the key in the hole. There's nothing blocking the ignition hole. It's currently 4 degrees outside, so I'm not sure if that has something to do with it.

Also, last night (last time I drove it) my low tire pressure light came on. I don't think I would have to put air in the tires to be able to start the car?

Hi Justin...
Welcome to kia-forums!
You might have a frozen ignition lock...
Take a good extension cord (12gauge) and a hair dryer and warm up the "slot" where the key would go or better yet start the car remotely and allow it to get quite warm inside.
This "might" provide a cure...
The low temperature WILL effect the air pressure in your tires also...Give that a day or so when the weather warms up...

I'm here in Massillon, Ohio and I "see" you are in the Buffalo, NY area... We had these temps this morning but a warming trend is coming...24.113.159.205
My 06 Spectra didn't want to go into first gear from reverse for a few seconds this afternoon when I was going to help my son with his 04 Mazda6...
The cold temperatures caused the plastic in his shift linkage to break... This will be a $300 repair (parts)...My labor will be free.. Lot's of time involved...

Worst case you are lucky that you have the FULL KIA warranty and can let them handle any other problems...

Hello Justin and welcome to the Kia forums. It is possible to spray some Wd 40 into barrel will release the tumblers to allow key in .
If the barrel has frozen I would suggest you use the heater on hot aircon mode and Do Not use recycle. This will act as a Dehumidifier as well as a heater and help reduce internal fogging of windows and ice forming inside car.
