Welcome to the KIA forums. It sounds like it may be related to timing belt or its pulleys. I would advise not to drive the car too much and get it looked at as soon as you can. Do not wait and continue to use the car. It sounds like a timing belt pulley might be siezing up and it will cause big damage if it does.It would be due for a timing belt change at 60000, so get it done if it hasn't been . The belts usually last a bit longer , but not a good idea to push your luck and wreck the engine if you have a pulley sieze or the belt slips or breaks.
