Default Stuck CD in CD player

Today while I was driving and listening to a CD, my deck showed error 6, then ejected my CD. After I put it back in, the radio just took in the CD and did nothing. Now I can't eject CD or play it. Any ideas on how I can get the CD out?

1 idea that comes to mind but its alot of work. take out the cd player and disassemble it.
I had to do this to my computer. never done it with a car cd player!
or i am sure if you take it to the dealership they can do something for you/ they can rip it apart. ( and no damage by you :P ) good luck

I had the same thing happen to my CD player. I was luck enough to still be covered by the warranty and it was replaced by my local dealer.

Hey blue, I had the same problem (I have a 2003 Kia Spectra). I found a service bulletin (or something) that Kia had issued about it. The official way is to reset the radio completely which has something to do with pulling fuses and disconnecting the battery. I found out that my cds would come out if I stuck the tip of my finger into the slot and pushed on the cd right after I pushed the eject button. Been doing that for a few years now and it still works. Try that first and save yourself some trouble. Otherwise, call your dealership and ask about it or look up service bulletins at a local library that has an auto repair database.

Thumbs down

I also have had a similar experience. Driving along one day listening to the radio, decided to listen to a CD which was already inserted. Selected the CD button and the LED displayed "READING .....". Never went away. Tried to eject the CD but it didn't. Had been listening to the same CD the previous day.

From then on, the volume control played up. Turning the volume control resulted in random changes or no change to the volume.

Decided to try reset the CD player. Did this by removing the memory fuze (actually a double fuze down by the drivers side kick panel). Waited 30 seconds, and reinserted the fuze, and the CD popped out of the player. Put the radio code back in, and the volume control functioned correctly.

Put another CD in (thinking the other CD may have been scrached etc.) and the same thing happened (i.e. could not read/eject and the volume control was stuffed).

I think the CD player is stuffed, anyone got any clues on how to fix it?

If you go to www.kiatechinfo.com and register, for free, in the TSB section there is an article on fixing this problem in various models, it will help you a lot. I will see if I can locate it and when I do I will attach it on this post. Sorry I can't attach it, it is wrong file type but here are the details so you can find it TSB KT2006032401 3/29/2006 Audio unit reset procedures. http://www.kiatechinfo.com/TechInfo/..._no=295&page=3 here is a direct link to it.

TAKE YOUR TIME, THINK IT OUT, DO IT RIGHT, DO IT ONCE!! original quote by me as far as I know.
