Default 08 spectra5 sx.....1,000 miles...and..

It's already pulling hard to the right. I looked at the A frame and nothing is bent.

Anybody else have this problem? It was barley noticeable and is just getting worse as the miles pile up.

All highway and I have not hit any potholes.

C'mon Kia you almost had my trust.

Before someone chimes in with tire psi it is fine.

I work for a auto parts retailer and have above average auto knowledge.

Mine has been pulling to the right since I bought it last week. They adjusted the air pressure but the back left tire was 4 pounds low when I checked at home. I just purchased a new tire gage with a dial to get it perfect. I'll be back next week for an alignment. I hope they solve the problem as the sales rep said it would be no problem to align. If not I guess I'll be contacting Kia directly if they can't fix it or start feeding me a bunch of crap.

Come to think of it, mine does too. I just thought the steering wheel was a bit crooked or something. Maybe I should get that looked at too. I also have an 08 spectra 5.

Default Just got back from alignment…

I took it in today for alignment.

They didn't have an alignment machine there so I asked for a print out of the alignment specs, before and after.

At first the service reps had a bad attitude. The first one didn't want to hear my concerns, so I didn't back down. It was more of an ego trip to them. But, I told them I had to add the correct tire pressure after two trips there.

The service manager took me for a test drive trying to convince me there was nothing wrong. He also started out with a bad attitude.

I told them it was a concern when I test drive it and that it hadn't been resolved.

He made the appointment then was very considerate.

As it turned out it was out of alignment. The toe in was off, especially on the front.

They were all very nice to me when I picked it up and were impressed with the computer print out I requested from the alignment shop.

This also covers their ass, as it's proof that it is aligned.

The before specs:

Front:

Camber: left -0.2 right 0.0 (both have an acceptable tolerance of 0.5- -0.5

Caster adjust: N/A

Toe left -.22 right 0.24 (tolerance of -0.08- 0.08)

Rear:

Camber left -0.9 right -1.1 (tolerance -0.4 to -1.4)

Toe left 0.2 right 0.20 (tolerance 0.08 - 0.24)

total Toe 0.22 ((tolerence 0.16 0.47) thrust angle -0.09

After alignment:

Front

Camber left -0.3 right 0.0 (cross camber -0.4)

Toe Left 0.06 Right -1.0 (total toe 0.10)

Camber Left -1.0 Right -1.0

Toe Left 0.18 Right 0.22

total toe 0.41

Thrust angle -0.02

Apparently the toe was off which means the wheels were leaning into the car and not perpendicular to the road.

I did notice an improvement. I knew something was off in there. That's why they couldn't detect it at low speeds on the center of the crowned road.

this car should really drive well now, please post your alignment specs

Edit: they also centered the steering wheel perfectly.

I'm proud out little Kia dealership resolved this issue to my satisfaction.

Sounds good. I should check that out. I know this is dumb, but I installed some undercarriage neon. Its wired straight to the battery. I really doubt it, but they arent ganna get all moody about it not being underwarranty right? Its just a few hole drilled into the undercarriage plastic.
