Question Taillight water problem

I have an 01' Kia Spectra. the problem with my tail lights is the brake light section of the lights keeps filling up with water(which is blowing my bulb) just about every time it rains. It does this on both tail lights. I was wondering if drilling a small hole in the bottom of each tail light would help with the problem or should I just i just invest in a new set?

Youll need to re-seal them. Where the taillights come together, use some silicon all the way around the seam of the taillights Should fix the problem. Or you could get some used ones, on ebay or the junk yard.

Pull them out of the car, remove bulbs, put in 200 degree oven for 10 to 15 min to make sure all the moisture is out, let cool reseal with some silicone. Bon Apetit!

You might get a slight plastic taste if you stuff them. I have baked several headlight sets to get them apart and no funny taste. If you broil them, well now that is a different story. Put the lights on a piece of foil and the moisture should evaporate within 10 minutes.

you don't need to bake them. You can just do it around the seal. No one will see it.... if your that worried about looks, then after you seal them and let dry, take a razor and cut off any excess. Where there is a leak it will fill it.

If you do not get all of the moisture out they will fog up with your lights on.

The current water in them will evaporate in at most a few weeks. Unless there is salt in the water it will evaporate. The only water that don't evaporate is salt water.

When i took my tail lights off, I found some, i would suppose these were moisture plugs... There was one for each compartment of the tail light. THe question is would it be smart to just superglue these on so after i reseal the tail light that there will be no possible way to let moisture in?
