Thanks. The only person who is a kook here is me! I can convert the km to miles well enough but wish the rest of the world would stick with miles. I even researched why you would use km and apparently it's some kind of fraction of the speed of light. Whatever! I'll always have to convert it back to miles.
I'm at a loss why you are experiencing this wind noise? The only thing I can think of is that gutter track along the sides on the roof may be a little loose. If it were me I would carry a roll of duct tape and when it happened again get out and put some tape on the plastic rain gutter in the area where the noise is to see if it stopped the problem. If it doesn't work you know that's not the problem. Then try to identify any crevice or loose rubber door molding that seems out of place in the area that the noise originates. It must be striking an angle or crevice so you could do process of elemination with the tape.
Please let us know if you figure it out!
Edit: I was just thinking, the only thing that I know that makes a howling noise in the wind is the "stay" on a boat. This is a cable that holds the mast in place, but it's just a thin stand of cable in the wind.
So, maybe it is the obvious antenna on top? Could be the loose strip of plastic vibrating, but the only thing I know that howls like that is the cable on a boat.
Does this howling happen when the wind is blowing from one direction or both? If both it's probably the antenna.
