Default OEM # P1404 Service Code

My daughter e-mailed looking for information on this code. Can anyone help me?

Thanks

The diagnostic was OEM # P1404 for a 2002 Kia Spectra

It says: leak detection module solenoid valve circuit fault

Probable causes:
1) Open or Short circuit conditions
2) Failed Leak Detection Heater in DMTL

Step Inspection Action
1 Ignition OFF and disconnect DMTL connector. Ignition ON, measure voltageof DMTL battery power circuit between DMTL harness connector and chassis ground.
· Specifications: approximately B+
Is voltage within specification? Yes Go to step 2.
No Open circuit or short circuit to chassis ground between DMTL harness connector and main relay.
Repair as necessary.
2 Turn ignition to OFF and disconnect ECM connector.
And DMTL connector. Measure resistance of DMTL harness valve circuit between DMTL harness connector and eCM harness connector.
· Specifications : below 1Ω
Does resistnace indicate continuity circuit? Yes Go to step 3.
No Open circuit between DMTL harness connector and ECM harness connector.
Repair as necessary.
3 Measure resistance between DMTL harness connector and chassis ground at DMTL harness valve circuit
· Specifications : below 1Ω
Does resistnace indicate open circuit? Yes Go to step 4.
No Short circuit to chassis ground between DMTL harness connector and ECM harness connector.
Repair as necessary.
4 Ignition OFF and remove DMTL.
Apply battery voltage to DMTL battery terminal and ground to DMTL heater terminal for 10~20 minutes (Current : 0.3A).
Verify that DMTL temperature increases.
· Specifications : approximately 31Ω @ 20°C (68°F)
Is resistance within specification? Yes Thoroughly check DMTL for loose, poor connection, bent, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.
No Temporarily install a known good DMTL and check for proper operation.
If problem is corrected, replace DMTL
5 Return vehicle to original condition. Clear all diagnostic trouble codes.Verify by driving vehicle with SCAN TOOL connected and monitor for pendingcodes.

Anyway that Moisture could cause the check engine light to show this issue and it really isn't bad?
