Angry 2002 Kia Spectra Driver Door Won't SHUT!

Hello, i recently bought my 2002 Kia Spectra GSX (in July) and i am having a problem with my Driver Door (Front). The door will not close. I am wondering if anyone knows what needs to be done in order to adjust this and keep my door closed. IT is currently -20 out with the windchill here in Wisconsin and I don't know how to fix it. I would love it if it was something easy that I could fix without having to take it in, but hwo knows right? I did have someone put lubricant with graphite on the latch/hinge hoping that this would correct hte problem, but it didn't help at all. I slam the door and it just won't close. THe light stays on in the car on the dash while I'm driving and won't stop beeping!!!! I need my door to close for my sanity and becuase it's too damn cold out....PLEASE HELP!

Mine does that too....I just usually push the handle down on the outside, lock the door, and then slam it...the only problem is that once you do that you might not be able to get it open and have to exit the passenger side door. Let me know if you ever find a fix....out of curiosity, do your locks sometimes not work?

I would look at the latch.

I have this problem as well when it gets cold out, The current theory I have heard is that there is water in the door mechanism, and when it gets cold it freezes and restricts movement of the parts. the suggested fix to said theory is to spray wd-40 (it ain't called water displacement formula 40 for nothin) into the mechanism and see if it helps.
