Door wont unlock with the key

My husband and I recently purchased our son a 2003 Kia Spectra. It seems to be a great car, except the key wont unlock the driver or passenger doors. The key will unlock the trunk. When you get in the car you can hit the lock button and it will lock and unlock all 4 doors. But the key will not lock or unlock the doors. I heard it could be a valet key but valet keys work the opposite. They unlock the doors but no the truck. Help what can I do. You have to crawl through the truck to unlock the doors if you forget and hit the lock button when you get out.

It almost sounds like the doors have been replaced? You can have a locksmith put new tumblers in you doors to match your key. You might have to take it out! I would call around to different locksmiths to see if they can do it on the car! Good luck!!
