Question Where is the fuel filter located 03 spectra?

Will I need any special tools to get it off?

It's located just ot the left of the engine when you are looking at it, and a little down toward the ground. . You will need needlenose pliers, and patience. Mostly patience. Careful- sometimes they spit. And do it when you haven't run it for a bit. I personally remove the gas cap before I remove a fuel filter. It lets off some of the pressure.

Before you attemp to change the fuel filter you should release the fuel system pressure to avoid too much gas spills. To do this, remove the back seat bottom part, in the car body below the seat, theres a metal cover with 3-4 cables going through a hole in the center of the metal cover. Remove this metal cover (3 screws) and there will be 3 plugs (one of them is the gas pump power cables). Turn on the car, unplug the fuel pump while the car is on, it will turn the car off in 1-5 seconds and have the fuel pressure released.

02-> 04 Spectras Have the fuel filter located on the chassis below the back seat on the right side. Close to the front of the the rear right tire, to be more exact. It is a black cylinder (probably very dirty) with 3 connections to the fuel system. The connections are easy to remove (have rags for fuel spillage). When you install the new filter make sure you hear a click when you connect the fuel lines with the filter, this will tell you that it is tightly secured and not loose(this is very important, fuel leaks can be very dangerous).

Heres a picture of what the picture looks like. Your old one will be a lot dirtier!
