Default Lowering Kits...anybody try them?

would like to have this installed on my 2005 Spectra provided it will not invalidate the warranty. I like my car but it is just too darn HIGH and i hope with lowering it and some fatter tires it may handle better. Has anybody done this? how much should it cost?

Default Good Kit to have.

The Kia Dealership in Greenville, Sc. installed a factory Lowering Kit on my 05 Spectra EX. It was thier first kit that they installed and did the work for free. My car set down about 2 1/4 inches and looks alot better. Between the Lowering and the Ground Effects my Kia Racecar sits really Low now. The Handling was surprisingly much better than stock too. The Kit was $325 and it looks like it was'nt to hard to install.

Highly recomend the Kit. (And it's Factory)...

Dunno about 2 1/4. I haven't seen any spring drop the spectra that much. Even the intrax with the lowest drop is only 1 3/4". WIth settle time thats about 2" drop. My kia dealer stated they were a 1 1/2" drop.

I had to Shave 2 1/4 Inches off of my Ground Effects to meet CLass Rules. The extra 1/4 came from the Tire Size change. 2" is closer to what you will get. I still recomend the Factory Kit because the ride is still there. My Local Kia Dealership is really interested in this Spectra. Been asked to park it at the Dealership when not being Raced. Problem is, is I drive it to work everyday. Will be adding the Dealer Graphics Package soon. Trying to get them to come out to the Races in April to play with the Tuning.

Most of the spring kits are a 11/2" drop. After springs get yourself a strut bar and a tibby 19mm sway bar and it will handle like it should. BTW, I do'nt believe changing springs will void the warranty. I also guessing the dealer is using aftermarket springs too.

There is an official Kia factory accessory spring kit available. That's the kit the other poster was referring to. My dealer quoted me $285 for the springs and 3 hours ($93/hr) to do the work.
