Default How Do I Remove The Door Panel On A 06 Spectra

I Keep Hearing A Rattling Noise Every Time I Play Music With A Lot Of Bass In The Speaker On The Driver Door But It Only Happens When I Turn The Music Up. I'm Thinking The Speaker May Just Be Loose Or Something And Maybe A Screw Just Needs To Be Tightened. I'm Trying To Avoid Having To take It To The Dealership And Having To Spend Money Fixing It If It Is Something Simple I Could Do My Self. Does Anyone Know How To Remove The Door Panel

Does it sound bad though? Or just a rattle. There is adifference between a blown speaker and a rattle.... If its blown then it will sound terrible..

You should be covered under warranty, unless you have made alterations to the door yourself. I would be careful when it comes to that, because you never know what will or won't void your waranty. Remember that kickin' 5 year 100,000 k warranty? Use it!! It's what you paid for!!

It Doesn't Sound Bad And The Reason I Don't Think Its Blown Is Because When I Push On The Door Area Around The Speaker It Stops And Sounds Perfectly Fine. Will The Warranty Still Cover It If I Had A Car Accident.

I have a 2007 and mine does the exact same thing, people are always so quick to blame a blown speaker... this is not the case, the speaker works fine, there's just a rattle. Like yours, my rattle is stopped simply by pushing on the door panel or the actual speaker itself.

Wink speaker rattle

I had the same problem with my 07 Spectra. I did actually take it into the dealer, and they blamed the noise on some loose pens I had in the door pocket. Funny thing is, the pens were only there for a few days, and the rattle had been there for a few months. Go figure! I think they simply didn't want to fool with it. My husband and I took the door panel off and removed the speaker from the door, and still it rattled. We found that it was the speaker casing, around the outer circle, it had come unglued, or maybe was never glued in the first place. We just glued it together and it worked. No more noise. Taking the door panel off was the tricky part. There are several screws that need to be removed. A few near the door handle, under a cover that has to be removed with a very thin flat head screwdriver, or perhaps a file. There are a few more on the side of the door, under the "caps", and a few more under or inside of the armrest. The rest of the panel just pops off and on. It is such a relief to finally have this fixed. It was so annoying!
