Angry Headlight Woes - 03 Spectra

About 8 months ago, both headlights went out. Four months or so later, the passenger side one went out again. Last night the driver's side one went out.

What is going on? I don't seem to have any other electrical problems. Am I just buying crummy bulbs, or is there some other possible reason?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Might want some dielectric grease in the socket to make sure you're getting good contact. Otherwise, on the replacements if you put in a halogen bulb bare handed, the oil on your fingers tends to make the bulbs fail prematurely.

Thanks! Yes, I know about handling halogen bulbs. I'll try the grease to see if that helps.

Well, I tried the dielectric grease and that doesn't seem to help. I guess my next step is to go to the dealership (ugh).

Now, why would my headlights go out such that I need to change them 3 times in 8 months in the first place?

I meant dielectric grease when you replace them so they get a good contact- it's not going to fix burnt out bulbs.
