Unhappy 8th time in shop I am ready to cry

Someone help me!

O

Is anyone else having problems with the O2 sensor going out over and over again? How about thermostat going out already? Just got the car in June and it is VERY low mileage, all highway........less than 10k on it

Please tell me that I am not the only one, or that I am and it is just a fluke..........

Man, I wish there was another dealer here then. What should I do? Seems they just cannot fix any problems that come up........they are check engine lights and such so they are not imagined problems or anything.........

Don't Lemon Laws kick in after 4 or 5 times to the shop?

I had a lot of problems with mine at first. It was mainly to do with the evaporative fuel recycling system. In the end I believe the total time I was without my vehicle was about 3 weeks and 4 or 5 visits. I believe ALL of the evap system was replaced in the end, however during this time I was supplied with a vehicle by the dealership.

In your case I feel bad that your dealer seems less then willing to work with you on getting this fixed. I would call Kia customer service directly and put them in touch with the dealership to get some better results.

On a side not for my own curiosity what kind of MPG have you been getting, and after this is fixed I would like to know what your MPG end up at. I have a hunch that a bunch of the 06 Spectras have some kind of flaw that is causing random systems to fail and vehicles to perform poorly.

Best of Luck.

When I look at the Lemon Law information it looks like a huge hassle to get it all processed, doesnt it seem like with all that I have already been thru it would be easy? Man.

I have been in direct contact with Kia many times, as a matter of fact they have called here for a survey, the lady told me that even though I never lost my temper with her (she even said that considering what we have been thru I was the nicest person she had talked to after I had cried on the phone) that she not taken a call that bad yet in her surveys . I am hoping she had not been working there long as surely there had been worse experiences. I really think the service department there is the problem, seriously...........but there is not another dealer in this area............

I kind of wish that Kia would address it directly with me, that they would have contacted me directly after that survey, you would think that they would have really. I mean, what I did state several times was that MY opinion was that they need to screen the dealers or train the dealer service people better possibly maybe? But after even the survey person saying this, no call back or follow up?

I am sad, bummed..........upset............shocked........I just do not know what to think. I have had problems with vehicles before when they are new, I have owned new Toyotas, Hondas, Chryslers, and Mazdas..........no new in any other brands.......now a new Kia..........I did have one thing go wrong early on with the Chrysler once and with the Toyota once, so it is not like I just think that it is a POS or something, but they did say that the service man did not fix it 'correctly' one of the times............I mean...........and then it fails again, and then another thing, then another part, then same part again, and so on and so on...........

So, at some point if it was going to be Lemon Law or something they do not just kick in you have all this stuff you have to file and they differ from state to state and it is within a year and we are about to move in two months and that is RIGHT at the year mark..........oh gosh.........so if we started the process right NOW and it did not conclude with our luck we would have to start it over in a new state and the year would pass.........I mean at what point does it become the responsibility of the dealer or the mfg? You know? Problem is I like my car, if they had one on the lot like it I WOULD WANT IT but they don't so what would they give me anyhow?

Where are you located for service? Survey people are third party employed and those surveys are not individually read but summarized by a computer for reports. If you haven't called the national customer service hotline, then do it now. Also, you are in your right to ask the dealer to arrange a Kia regional tech representative to come and look at your car. CALL THE CUSTOMER SERVICE HOTLINE if you are given any hassles and document everything on your end too. Hotline number for your market is in the owner's manual and found on the web site of your country's Kia network (U.S. www.kia.com).

I called the one on the website in October already in reference to the recall issue and again in December and in January. The one on the website, and it is the same on in the manual, I just checked. She apologized, asked if I wanted it filed as a complaint against the dealer. I said yes. I guess that does nothing. The question to file the complaint was in December. It is almost February now.

They probably will not want to come to Alaska is why they never offered the regional tech.

Trust me I have documentation with big old tear drops all over it.

This is the thing.........this is the least expensive automobile we have ever purchased but we really wanted to get it for many reasons. Everyone keeps teasing us telling us we deserve it basically. Our 4 Runner was upwards of 30k, the Chryslers were both also, the Hondas also, but since we are moving, this will be our second car, the commute car, and we will get our family car when we get to our next base. My husband is a Senior Master Sgt in the USAF and this is so angering to us that this is even happening and we are almost feeling pressured to buy car #2 before we move but why should we have to do that because of something like this? It is not like we are poor........not it at all......we are going to be buying a second bigger vehicle. It is just not fair. I read the reports and they were supposed to be great and I love the car but if all of the dealers stink............what use is a great warranty? And NOW everyone else is seeing a bad car, what does that do for Kia? I still think it just needs to be fixed correctly and if it is not I think it will eventually mess any number of things up. The light went back off again. My husband will be driving over 6k from Alaska to Georgia in 2 months. Let's just pray that it does not happen in some remote place where there is no dealer. I almost wish there was a way to get a regional rep up here to give it a once over and find out even though the light is not on now why it keeps going on and off........maybe this 'evap' thing someone else referred to?

I will grab the documentation from my car and post as much useful info as I can. The dealership said they had opened a case with KMA and they were supposed to issue a bulletin if needed, but I haven't seen it yet.
