Unhappy spectra calipers HELP

i was just wondering if anyone else has had any problems with the calipers on the spectra...
I have a 2005 sepctra and i just took my car into Just Breaks they told me i needed to have the back left caliper rebuilt...i just think it is odd for a car this new...i called the Kia dealership and they told me it is normal for one break to be worn more than others...i have never hear that before, and i have been working on cars with my Dad since i was 5...when i was talking to the guy at Kia he told me to bring my car in so they can change out the break pads for me and charge me $200...well i figured i would just get the break pads and do it myself if that is what they wanted to do...well i got the back left caliper off and guess what...i cant get the caliper to decompress, i used a c clamp and got my husband out there with his "hurcules" muscles to try to compress the caliper back to get the new pads on, well we couldnt get it, we could only get it down enough to put the old pads on...the guy at Kia told me the caliper wouldnt be covered under the 10 year 100 thousand warranty...is this right???? should i just get a new caliper and do it myself, or take it to Kia?????

back when I had my tiburon I couldn't use a c-clamp to compress the caliper I actually had to hit up advanced auto and pick up this little box looking thingy and it attaches to a 3/8 rachett and you actually spin the caliper down. From what I notice my spectra and my tiburon are very similar.

The 10 year /100,000 warranty is for the Engine, Transmission, and differential.

Brakes are part of the normal wear and tear which is not covered in any warranties. DO NOT DO IT YOURSELF you can void your warranty if you do that, so dont do it yourself. Let Kia do it, because if you ever were to have any warranty needs taken care of and you dont have records of it being done if you were to do it yourself.

Here is the number it is also on the driverside window.

If the end of the piston has any notches or features to rotate it with, its the type iron is refering to. Usually you can stick the tips of your needle-nose pliers in there and easily rotate it to retract the piston.

If you're handy, don't hesitate to do the easy stuff yourself.

you might want to check with the local Kia dealership and ask the Service Manager what you can have added that wont void the warranty.

EDIT: After talking with our service manager here at the store. He said you could add the catback exhuast and a cool air intake to your spectra.

As far as adding a turbo kit, Kia doenst make one if you added one and if it were to do irreversable damage to your engine the warratny would not cover it.

Best bet would be to get the Kia parts that they have and try them, may not add a lot of HP to it but the Spectra does have more HP than the Corolla
