bumper paint
In 2002 my mother purchased a new Kia Spectra. A few weeks ago someone backed into her car in a parking lot and scratched the bumper. When she got an estimate as to how much it would cost to repair the damage, she was shocked when the technician told her the car was not new when she bought it. She did not go to the dealer for an estimate, however it was a very reputable body shop.
He said both bumpers were not the original bumpers. They were both pitted, and he said they only had the primer on them and not the final coat paint, which is the reason they were pitting.
Has anyone heard of this problem? Or are we just dealing with a sneaky Kia dealership who sold a damaged car, as a new car to an elderly woman?
