Default New Spectra Owner w/questions

Hello,
I'm a new Kia Spectra5 owner in Atlanta, GA, just stopping in to say "hey" and introduce myself. My Spectra5 is a 2005 Spark Blue with an automatic transmission. The only options I can think of that it doesn't have is cruse and a sunroof. Could care less about the sunroof... but I miss cruise (self imposed limit to prevent speeding ).

Now, I am no rookie at modding cars, but I think I'll leave the little Spectra alone until the warranty nears it's end. I previously owned a Regal GS with cam, intake, porting work, overdriven supercharger, etc. that was fast but went through three transmissions, a fuel pump, and MANY tires. Third transmission is the final straw, thus I got something fun but with less than 300 HP/LbFt.

A few theoretical modding questions.

I have found that (at least with American Automakers) many automotive companies have interchangable factory parts that are easily modified to use as upgrades. How related is the 2.0 in the Spectra to the 2.4 in the Optima? I.e. is the Optima's block just a stroked/bored Spectra block? If so, has anyone tried an optima intake manifold/TB combination to see if there's improvement to be had?

Is there a good location to find the basics like bore/stroke, TB Diameter, runner length, etc?

Wait, I'm talking modding... uh, oh.... here we go again.

Austin

the optima 2.4 is a completely different motor from what i understand. however the 2.4 does produce more hp at almost the same weight and size as the 2.0 it has some noted issues with the timing chain.

kfxperformance.com has plenty of mods for the spectras 2.0 including turbo and/or superchargers
