Default 2003 spectra heater control removal

does anyone know how to remove the heater control knob and the dash panel around it? The heater in my car was only blowing hot air the other day and now it only blows cold air. The car is not overheating which makes me think it may be the control knob. Thanks for any help.

Easy. Take the housing off from around the stearing collum. Then take the 2 screws out from the top of the dash panel in front of your gauges (look up). Then carefully pull the panel away. It is held on by clips. CAREFULL OF THE WIRING! And thats it. Hope it helps.

i had the same problem with my 02 spectra gx. turns out i could see the problem by sticking my head down on the passenger side floor and looking towards the driver's feet. there was a small 'arm' that wasn't attached properly. move the hot/cold knob while watching that area and you might see it too.
