Question Spectra carpet problem

I purchased a 2005 Spectra last year. I have had continuous problems with the floor mats turning my carpet black. Kia has switched out the floor mats and shampooed the carpets several times but the problems still prevails. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Hi b...! I've not had my car long enough to be much help to you -but at 5 months old, I checked yesterday-no black under my mats on the carpet (same mats, 5 months, carpet having not been cleaned first time yet). I live a very hot state-5 months over the summer hottest dryest summer I can recall in decades-same mats entire 5 months-and still under that much stress even, no black rubber color rubbing off onto the light-grey carpet under my mats. Again, haven't had car long enough to really be of use to your question there, sorry. Is it under all four mats? What color's your interior carpet? Could there be some kind of chemical having been applied for some purpose in the past on the carpet in all the black places, that's degrading the rubber/color from the rubber mat bottoms? Quite a puzzle.

I have not put any chemicals on the carpet or mats other than the dealership shampooing the carpets & mats. The problem started almost immediately after purchase and has been brought in numerous times and no one has an explaination. My capet is a light tan color so it is quite noticable. Thanks for your response.
