Question Kia Cerato 1.6 Steering Lock??

Hi.. wonder if anyone can give me any advice, Ive just bought a Kia Cerato 1.6 LX, from new...a fantastic car, however I cannot work out if the steering lock is faulty..when I turn the engine off and remove the ignition key..the steering lock does not work ..and I can still move the steering wheel/wheels..I contacted the dealer and he said this is unique to the Cerato..and will only work if someone breaks into the car and hotwires it..the steering lock kicks in then??? ..this seems to contradict the manual..and the whole theory of a steering lock????..any advice help appreciated...

Hi Matty,

Your steering lock is not faulty. When you remove your ignition key you have to turn the steering wheel either clock or anti clockwise until it eventually locks
