Default 03 Spectra looses power, cuts off...

I have an 03 Spectra, and it's having some strange problems. Mostly when you first start it, it seems like it has no power what-so-ever. Not hardly even enough to move it. Sometimes it's so bad that when you put it into gear, the whole car just shuts off. It's also been getting very poor fuel economy.

I've always been a Jeep guy and know very little about Kia's. Anyone have any ideas for me?

Spark Plugs? Wires? O2 Sensor?

Thanks!

is the check engine light on? could be a number of things. Clogged air filter, clogged fuel filter, plugs and wires, o2 sensor, bad iat sensor could be anything. best bet is if the cel is on get it scanned at advanced auto its free.

No check engine light... just problems. I replaced the air filter, that didn't do it. I guess I'll try spark plugs next... maybe the wires while I'm at it.

*sigh*

if you do the plugs it is recommended that you do the wires at the same time.

Can anyone tell me what the proper gap is for the spark plugs?

The car didn't come with an owner's manual and I can't find that bit of info anywhere on the internet!

Mine has been doing the exact same thing and the Dealership is no help! All they do is flash the ECU and send it on it's way, it never really fixes anything.

My average KM's (Canada) on a tank of fuel is a little over 400.
