Default interior lights problem

Hello everyone

i just bought a secondhand kia pro cee'd and i'm very happy about it
The only thing that annoying me is that there is no interior lights in the front part of the car. The only lights is halfway the roof but it doesn't give enough light in the front.

Now, my question is:
does anyone has an idea how i can solve this?
I've been to a kia dealer and asked to install lights in the front but that would cost me about 400€-500€ so thats not an option...

So, if anyone knows a good solution for my problem, i'll be very thankfull

Thanks in advance

Amdis, If it is any consolation to you. When I bought my CEED SW 3 years ago, that light in ther middle of the roof irritated the hell out of me for the first few weeks. And do you know, I had completely forgotten about it until I read your thread. I went and sat in the car and the light didn't bother me in the least. The reason it is there is so that it lights up the whole interior, not just the front.

Welcome to the forum Amdis

I fully agree with Dowdeswell; felt the same when I first got my Pro_ 2 years ago, but actually it's well placed. My wife's managed to map read at night from the passenger seat without major incident or getting lost plus there's a good light in the glove box too.

It might be worth you replacing the roof bulb as they're only £2-3 in Halfords, you just need a wide flat screwdriver to remove the cover, which might also like a clean. That could increase the brightness output of the standard setup.

Hope you enjoy your Pro_ as much as I did mine, they're beautiful cars and great fun to drive.

When I bought my 2 the 3 I also looked at had a different interior light set-up with front lights and cut-out pattern for these is there in my roof lining. If you could find an accident damaged 3 you could probably get the light unit for a few quid and fit the updated light unit. I bet the loom cables are all already there.
