to skidlid: i wont go into this because i am not an expert. i asked them if it will be a problem for the radiator and they said it wont.

i promised to upload accent 1.3 before (75hp) and after (135hp) so here it is...

In an earlier post you said that they had not done a Ceed before thus how can they know this for certain. I would be asking how thay can be so certain. If they are wrong who will foot the bill for repairs and the upgrade that will be needed then, you need that assurance now not an argument later.

I accept that upgrading the cooling system will cost money but it will only need doing once, radiators are not that expensive. Its you who will have the problems with your car, its not their own development hack they are doing the testing on.

Don't belive the temperature gauge either, they are damped to show "normal" anywhere between about 75 and 110 degrees. When was the last time you saw your gauge go up when you were sat in traffic, they just sit on normal all day unless there is a catastrophic issue with the engine. So when the 1.4 has its turbo on and running the gauge will not show truthfully how much hotter the engine is actually running unless it hits the maggic number and it shoots into the red zone.

So youre telling me that although the temp gauge on my car has actual numbers on the dial theyre just there to look pretty? Im not saying that its 100% accurate but it must be an approximate indicator of the actual engine temp?

My temp needle sits just below halfway once the engine is up to normal operating temp, unless im reading what you have said incorrectly you are saying that the needle will stay in the same spot regardless of engine temp unless it goes sky high when it will go into the red? Im sorry but i find that very hard to believe. Im not doubting it has some damping in the system but not to the degree you suggest.

to Ceed3: i dont think you can be certain of anything these days ...for example...i was certain that the turbo which we ordered wont have the fault it did...it proved me wrong...
then...when we ordered a new one (same serie)...i was sure i had bad luck and that it wont happen again...

you could call me "Bad luck Brian" but it happens...

this whole project is based on some experience from tuning guys and my trust in them...
like i said many times before ...i trust them ...
maybe i didnt write everything they told or explained to me but have a little faith

i dont know...sometimes it feels that everyone is expert here and i dont know who of you made similar project so that it can talk if it will be ok or not...
dont get me wrong...it is ok to question things...but not over and over again the same thing...

for the last time...i think the radiator will be fine...and the car will be tested (in every condition and with every diagnostic tool) before going on the road...so if anything feels like it shouldnt suppose to be...we will fix it

so...now that we went over the radiator issues...next subject...

The temp gauge on modern cars is little better than a warning light. If you have an engine problem it will jump from normal to danger in a split second. Its been said above, when was the last time you saw your gauge move when you were sat in traffic. The fan might be running but the gauge still says its normal and fans don't come on until the temp hits about 110 degrees.

Try it with a IR temp sensor or a simple thermocouple if you don't believe it.

Cooling is critical on any engine especially an uprated engine. If you and your garage are happy to accept that a standard factory cooling system can cope with the extra heat created by a 50% or more power increase and a reduction in airflow created by sticking the intercooler in front of the radiator so be it.

Im glad i have real temp sender on my tuned bike then! It sits in place of the sump plug (Oil cooled engine) and reads in 0.1c increments. Now that does read very differently depending on if im in traffic etc.

Don't know about calling jajceko Bad Luck Brian, but I'd call a few of you Negative Nancies!

So the tuning company haven't done a Kia cee'd before, but they have done similar mod's to Hyundai engines & cars, which we're quite closely linked with (check original posts), so they do indeed know what they are doing.

They've done a good job of the install so far, and a dodgy batch of turbos (or any other component) can happen to anyone, but the fact they've done their best to solve the issue without added costs to Jajceko tells me they're a good bunch.

When it comes down to it, ANY company doing this kinda heavy duty modifying will not hold themselves responsible for all future issues that might arise, no matter who or where they are. Jajceko has stated that they've got his car going with the current setup and they'll finish the job & run all the proper tests before handing over the keys & taking any money.

Stop trying your best to be negative. It is not your cash being thrown into this project, Jaj' knows the risks & has back-up plans if all goes wrong (again check original posts) so please just stop grouching!

i have asked guys from shop to register on this forum and to try to fill in the blanks for sceptics so i hope they will find the time
