What is the easiest way?

Removing battery and fuse/relay box behind the headlights,

or removing the plastic cover and the headlights and pull them forward to access the bulbs?

Thanks for the replies, the pictures there from damic is very helpful. I will replace my low beam bulbs to a pair of "ultra bright" ones. My car is nearly 3 years old and I have so far not replaced any bulb anywhere!

There, I did it, wasn't so hard, it took about half an hour.
Even with the bolts off it is a pretty tight fit, the headlight must be wiggled up and down and side to side to pull it out. I put in a pair of Osram "night breaker" H7 bulbs.

Half an hour to change two bulbs - that is excessive, but less time than I thought it would take! are the Osram's the same fitment? just a direct replacement?
Yes it's the same type and the same wattage (H7 55W), I changed the hi beam too to bright type H1 bulbs and to top it off I changed the position light to LED bulbs, it looks pretty nice with a white blueish light inside the hi beam reflector. At least you can change those without removing the headlight.

I was about to open a similar thread but here i am...

This "choreography" doesn't work for the 2010 ceed. I've been through the manual and through the forums and it simply doesn't work. The headlight is stuck on the front grille and wouldn't come out. The plastic rivets are pain to remove and are simply not enough to remove the grille.

I'm still driving with my left (passenger side) sidelight broken. It's not a big deal now, but i feel that i must be able to change a lightbulb as a roadside repair.

What about removing the stuff behind the headlights to get access? On my -08 I think it should be possible, just moving the battery towards the right side (without disconnecting it) and on the right side remove the bolts holding the fuse/relay box and push it aside. I think I'll try that next time.

Just changed the headlight bulbs on a regular Ceed UK Diesel model.
For the drivers side, it's as per the pics in the link which damic posted above, thanks for that it works a treat, before this I also tried to remove the fuse unit, I gave up, too awkward.
For the passenger side, all you have to do is to take out the battery and you can get to the back of the headlight unit no problem.

I serviced the car at my KIA dealer last week and I told a guy there about the bulb change. He told me he could change the bulbs without moving anything, a little tricky but possible.

Hello friends

I am writing from Portugal, i own 2 Kia Proceed Crdi128 2011/12 plate ;)
I need to change the front fog bulbs in one of them, but in the web, ebay, kia dealers i received has response 4 types of bulbs lol

H8/H27/HB3/HB4

For what i read my own, HB4 is for U1 2007-2009, Ceed U2 2010-12 in Osram site says it tooks H11 fog bukbs, in other sites says hb4.

Does anybody here have a proceed between 2010-2012 can confirm what are the fog bulbs it takes!? Thanks a lot.

Regards

Hi, somewhat off topic, In Spain because of the complexity of changing modern cars light bulbs they have changed the law, and you do not now have to carry spare light bulbs, in the past you were only issued a ticket if you did not have a spare bulb, which was somewhat unusual common sense on their part.

This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
