Default Oil Leak

Yesterday I noticed a fresh oil stain on my drive where I park my car.

Took the car to the dealers today to have it checked out and it turned out to be a leak around the oil filter.

They changed the filter under warranty and even washed my car - all for no charge!

I love this 7 year warranty (my car is over 3 years old with 45000 miles on the clock and apart from tyres it hasn't cost me a penny in repairs)

That's great news, good that they did changed it as I assume it was at the dealers you have it serviced.

Sounds to me like the oil filter wasnt correctly tightened when it was serviced! No wonder they sorted it without question if it was them who did the service.

I would imagine they would have dropped all the oil then replaced the filter then refilled with fresh oil, then again I could be wrong, but atleast your engine would appreciate it.

Glad you got it sorted so promptly.

Nice one fella, was that Hidsons in Rainham?

If in doubt, Accelerate!

How come they never wash my car, even when doing regular service

It's a shame we don't have better dealer/service network here.

I went to hidsons ranham when they changed the TSB's on my car. They washed it but left it streaky, almost didnt realise it had been washed lol. But it was more service than they claim to offer so I was still impressed none the less.

Nikola, I suppose its just each country is different, I suppose since some dealers do a wash and vac over here, they all do it to make it seem that they go the "extra mile" in customer service...

Yep, it does make you feel respected. When you see washing equipment / area sitting there and you never get your car washed, you start to wonder how much they really care about their customers.

Well, if you buy 150K EUR car you will get slightly better treatment.

Kia is usually sold to poor-ish customers, or those that do not care too much about cars, so customer service is adjusted to that market niche.

There is no point to provide any extra service, they would get nothing out of it.

Yes it was Hidsons, they normally do a good job and give reasonable discounts on their cars too.

They didn't say exactly what was wrong just that it was the filter, though I had done around 8000 miles since the service when it started leaking.

Still as long as it's fixed that's what matters.

There are other Kia dealers in the area so I suppose they need to give a good service.
