Question Changing fuel filter on petrol engine

Hi guys ..

I just came from my second service (@19.300 km) and when I looked at the invoice I saw that they didn't change fuel filer. Al other are changed (A/C, pollen and oil) but fuel filer is missing from the list. So, I looked at the invoice from my first service (made @ 8.500 km) and also fuel filer is missing.

Question is .. is there a fuel filter on 1.4l petrol engine for our Pro_Ceed's? ;o)
If so, when it should be replaced?
It's a bit strange that car made almost 20k km and they never changed or looked it (if it's really there) ;o)
All in all fuel here in Serbia is rubbish and God only knows what they are putting inside .. so I just want to be able to "block" as much as I can of those rubbish things they put.

Please give advice on this .. so in the case that this is their mistake I could make a claim and insist on changing this filter.

thanx in advance ..

Of course, all cars must have fuel filter.
I'm not sure, but I think that time for changing filter is after 60.000 km.
Look at guarantee book, it should be written there what is to be changed for every service.

Cheers!

Well I did look at this guarantee book just before service started because I was very curious what will they check and what will be replaced. Problem is that 95% of things which should be checked at this second service they didn't even looked at ;o)

I can't remember duty cycle for fuel filter (i must go to the car and look at this maintenance book), but thanx for the info .. ;o)

cheers . .

In our book it says for Europe inspect every 60,000km, does not say replace. Outside Europe its inspect every 20,000km and replace every 60,000km.

I'd take that list back to the dealer & get them to check/replace everything listed. It's your warranty they're messing with here!

I don't think that would be a problem - in warranty book, it only says whether the service is done or not. It is only the invoice that shows what work was done.

So I don't think that his warranty is in jeopardy by them not putting some stuff in the invoice until he got a stamp in the warranty book saying service was performed.

I still think if the book clearly states that "parts A to Z" need checking/changing at this service, you should be made aware that they've checked/replaced them all.

@Nikola: I went to service at Zemun dealership .. all in all their garage looked more serious than of those criminals "Djordjevic"

Regarding inspection and changing of parts .. yep, like I said almost nothing was ever looked or checked as it was supposed to be according to the list in the guarantee book.
To be even more ridiculous, they charged me 14EUR for changing of 4 light bulbs which I brought to them as they don't sell them. Also, they charged me for some other small stupid things .. like diluted water (for mixture with antifreeze) .. crazy people ..

How exactly did they dilute water?
