Default Mud flaps KIA ceed 3 2011 model

I am wondering why when you look at the KIA parts guide that you can't buy muds flaps for a KIA ceed 3 is it because of the side skirts or does any ceed 3 owners have the original KIA mud flaps.

I have a model year 2010 Cee'd SW 3 and have Kia original mudflaps for that. I very much doubt if there are any bodywork changes for the 2011 MY that mean they don't fit.

I can't see why the MY11 model 3 is any different than the MY10 for mudflap fitting. I'm 99.9% sure it isn't.
I have a MY10 3 and have the standard flaps. However, they are small and offer little protection, so I've extended them using Halfords Ripspeed rally flaps and have done the same on our Kia Soul. Or you can just use these Ripspeed flaps on their own and save a lot of money, like Drakey's done.
See here for full details.

01 February 2011

Dear Mr Gould

Re: Kia cee'd SW 3

Thank you for your e-mail received on 1 February 2011 regarding your ordered cee'd SW 3.

The mud flaps that are available to be ordered are for the cee'd SW 1 and cee'd SW 2 models. Regrettably they are not suitable for the cee'd SW 3 as there is a slight difference in the body shape and in wheel size.

Kia Motors (UK) Ltd are constantly reviewing the accessories we have available for the different models we have in our range and we hope to have mud flaps available for the cee'd SW 3 at some point in the future.

Thank you for contacting Kia Motors (UK) Ltd with your feedback.

Yours sincerely

Typical why don't they bring them out before ceed 3 released do the ripspeed ones potentially damage the wings

My 2010 Cee'd SW 3 also has KIA mudflaps fitted and they fit perfectly. I just cannot believe the 2011 model is different, its just seems to me that somone does not know what they are talking about.

Just as an example why would the wheel size affect the mudflaps? You could if you wished put 16" whheels on the car would this mean you could thern fit the mudflaps?

Even if there was a change say at the rear (Plastic) I cant imagine or believe they would change the shape of the steel mudgaurds on rthe front.

I don't believe this either. I too have a 2010 SW 3 with the Kia mudflaps. The 2011 model doesn't have any bodywork changes. The only changes I know about are daytime running lights, particle filter and stability control has standard on '2' model.

I think this is a case of someone making an error on the accessories list and then everyone at Kia just following this.

I suggest you ask a parts department to look up the part numbers for the front wings on 2010 and 2011 model years if they are different then the mudflaps maybe as well. Same applies to the rear plastic moulding for the SW.
