Towbars are currently being discussed in this thread http://www.kia-forums.com/kia-ceed-f...towbar-sw.html

Roof bars
I too am considering getting a pair of bars for my SW. I looked at the Kia ones as my dealer had them fitted to their showroom model. They looked fine. But the trouble with roof bars is that they are noisy and use fuel.
I then found the Whispbar by Prorack. They have other websites for most countries. They sell bars for Kia's.

This video is worth watching

I needed bars, for use a week after I got my SW. Roofbox.co.uk do spanish made 'cruz' bars at £49.99. Part number CRSR125-01 or Halfords do value 404s at £54.99. I luckily got some second hand halford 404s that easily fit a treat. I always think that roof bars are functional items that hold something else on the roof ,that nine times out of ten will give a lot more drag, than the bars themselves. When theyve served their purpose, take them off. I also think that wind noise is usefull because drag is exponential with speed so if theyre making too much noise, slow down, your using too much fuel.
Exponential :- whatever the drag at 20mph it will be more than twice that, at 40 And a hell of a lot more than 3 times that at 60

404U bars recommended for SW. 404UL also fit, and fit in boot (trunk) when not in use. UL models are Longer.

d3matt.......Spoken by the person that brought the noisy bars! CHEAP!! Got them, for £15 off a guy here at work that had swapped his megane estate for a rag top sports car. At that price and the odd times I use them, they could sing like a barber shop quartette for all I care. Hee Hee.

Dowdeswell, I completely agree with you. The £60 quid or so you saved, pays for a lot of fuel!

Default Noise bars

In that experience we are looking to the noise of the bar itself.
It is not shown the noise of the load on the bars...

I may ne naive, but correct me if I'm wrong:
It does not make any sense having bars that won't make any noise (or fuel consumption) when the load carried makes 10x more noise than the square bars or 10x more consumption...

??

But, the video was interesting.
