Default Windscreen washer pump/fuse

Hi,

I've got a problem with my windscreen washers. I thought mabye it wasn't working due to the recent low temperatures but the temperature has been hovering around 8c° for about a week now.

The resevoir is completely unfrozen now but when I activate the washers there is no sound from the engine compartment like there should be. The wipers still go through their 4 wipe cycle but there is no spray from the washers.

I've had a look at the fuse panel but there doesn't seem to be a fuse for the windscreen washer pump/unit.

Any idea what could be causing this?

Cheers

It might sound like a silly question but i have had a similar fault with my windscreen wipers, but when your front wipers are going throught the cycle does the rear one go too as if had been selected too ?

Hi,

Unless I select the rear wiper it is just the front wipers that go through the cycle. Think I'll just make an appointment and take it into the dealer.

Cheers

No, I was confirmed that front and rear wipers can work simultaneously.
That was your question, right?

Cheers!

yes that was my question

Can you confirm if there is a fix for this issue ? it only happens when it is very cold outside when i pull the stalk backwards to apply fluid to the windscreen but the pump will not pump and the rear wiper comes on instead, the front wipers go through their usual cycle as if water had been applied. As soon as the temperature rises the pump will pump again and the rear wiper does not come on when you select the front washer. Ihope this makes sense lol

I don't know, it's a very strange. In some case wiper work in some case don't work. For situation when is cold time, maybe the problem is in frozen washer liquid or you just don't screw stalk enough so liquid doesn't come out.
Several times I had this problem: When I trigger stalk for rear wiper, they start cycle, in the middle of cycle I trigger again (for new cycle) and they just stop.
Try this test, turn on rear wiper to work in interval, and then try to start front wiper, it must work.

If you don't hear the pump and the fuse is OK, the problem is usually a poor electrical connection at the pump or a bad pump.
